My name is Chowski and I am a 4-month-old male  Chow/Husky mix.  I was born here at the shelter and raised in a home by an ARL staff member.  I'm reddish-tan and have the personality of a Chow and the energy of a Husky!  So potential adopters MUST HAVE knowledge of my breeds and the ability to give me tons of exercise and lots of things to do because I'm also very smart.  I'm good with dogs, people and kids, and I'm still working on being housetrained.  I'm scheduled to be neutered in early February.

I'm 7 years old and currently in a terrific foster home but need you to take me to your permanent home.  My foster mom says that I am very sweet and laid back, and I like to follow her around.  I listen really well and I do lots of cool tricks!  When I was surrendered, I had itchy ears but my foster mom is putting drops in them and they feel much better now!  She says I snore too, but I think she's making that up ;)  They gave me a bath and now my fur is so soft and pretty.

Sullivan is a 28-year-old Quarter Horse gelding.  We are looking for a special home that is willing to offer Sullivan a home to live out his days.  Sully is very friendly and will be adopted out as a "pasture pet" only.  Sully had been starved and was over three hundred pounds under weight when the ARL rescued him.  He is steadily gaining weight and his health is improving with each day.  Sully had been used for many years as a children's camp horse.  He has paid his dues and he deserves a loving home where he can just relax and be loved.  Can you open your heart to great horse in need?  Sully is up-to-date on vaccines, de-worming and coggins.  Application and home/barn check required.  If interested, please contact Tracie Graham or Alison Rudy.

LB (Lucky Boy) is a 2-year-old Paint colt (will be gelded on 10/28/09).  LB was part of a large scale seizure that took place a couple of weeks ago.  He was one of the many neglected horses that were seized.  His hooves were severely over-grown, he was living in filth and he was very thin.  He is gaining weight, his hooves have been trimmed and he is now staying with a terrific foster family until he finds a home of his own.  LB stood well for the farrier and he is also easy to handle.  He is young and needs an experienced horse person to bring him along.  LB is up-to-date on vaccines, de-worming and coggins.  Application and home/barn visit required.  If interested, please contact Tracie Graham or Alison Rudy.

Frosty is an Appaloosa mare, approximately 12-14 years old.  Frosty is a sturdy well broke little mare, she necks reins W/T/C and backs up.  It is reported that Frosty had once been used a child's  4-H show pony.  Frosty does suffer from "moon blindness" in her right eye.  This does limit her vision in that eye.  She has been vetted and the vet feels that she could still be used for riding despite this condition.  Frosty is sound and sane and would be best suited for an advanced beginner or intermediate rider.  Frosty is up to date on vaccines and has a negative coggins.  Adoption application, home/barn inspection and adoption contract are required.  Please contact Tracie Graham or Alison Rudy for more information.

"Mischief" is a nine year old dun-colored Morgan cross pony  mare that stands about 13 hands.  Mischief has been well cared for her entire life but her owner was sadly forced to give her up for reasons beyond his control.  Mischief was born with a deformed/ clubbed hoof on her right hind leg.  This does not cause her any pain and she appears to be sound at the walk, trot and canter despite this condition.  Mischief has never been broke to ride but she has been in harness a couple of times.  Mischief has good ground manners and she is very trusting of humans.  This is a pony that is in your pocket at all times, she is not pushy just very friendly.  Mischief gets along well with other horses and goats too.  If you are looking for a very sweet companion pony or a very flashy driving pony, this may be your girl.  Adoption application, home/barn visit and adoption contract required.  Please contact Tracie Graham or Alison Rudy for more information.
