Fast Facts:
The Animal Rescue League is the largest shelter in Berks County
which includes our shelter (which is a temporary home to dogs, cats,
birds, snakes, lizards, guinea pigs, hamsters, iguanas, ferrets
etc.), our modern surgery center, our barn, boarding, grooming and
education area. All of this is sprawled on TEN acres of land.
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County sincerely cares about all
of the animals and the people who adopt them.
The Animal Rescue League has a pet llama, Snickers ,in our barn
area that is a permanent guest. Stop by to see him anytime!
You can find potbellied pigs, chickens, ducks, horses, sheep and
goats at any given time in our barn area that are also up for adoption.
Stop by and check out the barn.
You can bring your dog to walk on our special paths spread along
our 10 acres of land and check out the beautiful scenery. Spend
time with a shelter pet or your own pet in our gazebo situated on
our hillside.
Every single member of the staff has rescued a pet through the Animal
Rescue League!
All of us at the ARL are here because we want to help those who
can't help themselves!
The toughest and most difficult part of ARL's work is when an animal
has to be euthanized because there isn't enough space for all of
the unwanted animals. There aren't enough homes in Berks County
for all of the animals that enter our doors. Please SPAY AND NEUTER
YOUR PET. This is the only way we can reduce the PET OVERPOPULATION
CRISIS!!!!!
Remember to get your 2006 dog license. Over 90% of dogs with ID
on them are reunited with their families. You can also be fined
up to $300.00 for not having a current dog license. You may purchase
a license at the ARL.
