Animal Emergencies

saeclogoEmergencies have a habit of happening after hours and pet owners are often left in a panic wondering what to do and where to take their animals.

Please be advised that the ARL does not offer emergency veterinary care.

If YOUR pet is in need of emergency care, please call your vet first.  If your vet is not available after hours, Berks Animal Emergency Referral Center is open 24/7 and located on Lancaster Avenue in Shillington.  Their phone number is: 610-775-7535.

If you FIND a pet in need of emergency care (ie: one that’s been hit by a car) please call your local police department.  They will contact our on-call staff member.

And, as always – we have Animal Control Officers on staff Monday through Friday 9-5 to investigate cruelty situations! Learn more here.
