Volunteers
are always welcome at the Animal Rescue League. As with many
non-profits, volunteers are the backbone of our shelter.
Walking shelter
animals is a favorite activity of many ARL volunteers.
In addition to giving shelter animals the opportunity to exercise
outdoors, volunteers also get to enjoy the added pleasure of walking
on the bucolic, 10-acre shelter grounds in Cumru Township. A modern
barn is nearby to shelter abandoned or abused horses, ponies,
chickens, pigs, and other farm animals. And a popular resting spot for
dog walkers is our attractive gazebo surrounded by seasonal plants and
flowers.
We are planning
to expand our “Pet Path” and upgrade the walking trail with beautiful
shrubs, plants, and perennials.
If you have a
passion for gardening as well as for animals, consider becoming an ARL
volunteer gardener. Each season has its own special beauty that
provides a tranquil and beautiful setting for shelter animals and
visitors. Please contact the shelter at 610-373-8830 if you would like
to join our volunteer gardeners.
Volunteer
help is always appreciated too for our many special events, including
our popular flea markets, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas
Open House.
Perhaps you
would like to help our shelter by knitting or crocheting items such as
small blankets for our shelter kittens and cats.
Whatever
volunteer time and talents you can give the shelter are greatly
appreciated.
