For those who always wished they could surprise their family with a new kitten, cat, puppy or dog on Christmas morning, the Animal Rescue League of Berks County will be offering Christmas morning delivery of adoptable pets this year. For a $300 fee, which includes the adoption and delivery fee of the pet, adopters can select their pets during regular business hours on Saturday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23 from 12-5. ARL “elves” will then deliver the pets to the adopters’ homes on Christmas morning along with stockings filled with treats and goodies.
“We’re excited to bring this unique and fun adoption experience to Berks County,” says Tom Hubric, executive director. “We think that there are plenty of families who have children who would love to have a new pet for Christmas morning, but have no way to pull it off successfully. This adoption experience is sure to be a memorable and exciting event for the entire family—one that they’ll talk about for years afterwards.”
Deliveries will be limited to a 30-mile radius from the shelter in Birdsboro, and a limited number of deliveries will be accepted to ensure that the ARL “elves” have time to spend with their own families during the Christmas holiday.
