Barn/Working Animals
Periodically, we take in pigs, cows, horses, fowl and other farm animals, who will be listed below as available to adopt. Our barn, however, is primarily used to house barn/working cats, who help people combat rodent problems in barns, warehouses, workshops, vineyards/breweries or other structures without the use of an exterminator or chemicals. These cats are typically less-socialized cats with feisty personalities who prefer living unconfined and with limited human interaction, making them unsuitable to adopt as indoor family pets, but making them perfect candidates for controlling mice and other nuisance rodents naturally. These cats are available to anyone who is willing to provide them a stable and suitable sheltered environment in which to live, fresh food and water daily, as well as medical care as necessary for as long as they are on the property. In exchange, the ARL provides help and support to acclimate your barn/working cat to its new home until he or she is ready to begin work!
