End-of-Life Services

Home / End-of-Life Services

Here at the ARL, we know one of the toughest and most difficult times for families is making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Our humane and compassionate euthanasia services offer families the opportunity to say goodbye to their pets in a loving and supportive environment. We also offer low-cost cremation services along with a variety of memorial items to remember your loved one.

We schedule euthanasia appointments most mornings dependent on staff availability. Please call our Admissions office at 610-373-8830 to speak to a counselor to learn more about our compassionate care and to receive further information about the options available to you.

Our 11-year-old Cam was the joy of the life of our family and friends! Cam was obedient and loving and he was well mannered, too. He was not one to beg for food or take food without it being offered to him–which was an admirable trait for a dog of his stature! He loved his 2 buddies–our cats, Widdles & Ms. Kitty! In his younger days he loved to run through the fields, but as he aged he settled for 2-mile country road walks with us. Then his hips were unable to make the walk–he whittled down to a 500 ft. walk and then a 50 ft. walk and then to the point where he could no longer walk due to hip dysplasia. The demise was a heart wrenching occurrence for him and for us.

This week, our family needed to locate a facility that provided end-of-life services for Cam. I called in the morning and left a message regarding the rapid deterioration of his hips and his incessant need for comfort during the night. Within less than 1/2 an hour I received a return call. The young lady with whom I spoke was kind and informative. She asked me a few questions about our dog. She indicated there was an appointment available at noon for whatever end-of-life service we chose. She defined each of the options. We opted for the simple euthanasia and desired to bring him home with us for burial on our property. Although we selected the least expensive option, we were very impressed with the care and compassion we were provided with–along with being invited to spend as much time as we desired with Cam. We opted to wait outside for his body to be returned to us. Not knowing what to expect when he was brought to our vehicle, we were extremely pleased when he was brought to us swaddled in several comfy blankets. Your staff provided statements of comfort and presented us with a certificate with his paw print. Our family was extremely pleased with EVERY step of the process–including compassion, dedication, and teamwork displayed by the workers, efficiency and explanation for each step involved, and the cleanliness of the facility. Thanks to all for a job well done!

We LOVED him; we MISS him–there will NEVER be another Cam!
