Hi, my name is Ricky! I’m a very special boy with a special story. I was found as a stray wandering the streets, brought to the ARL where I was absolutely terrified and didn’t even want to come out of my kennel. With patience and lots of wet food, the kennel staff finally won me over and well, not to toot my own horn, but now I’m a staff favorite! Unfortunately, the staff here also noticed some concerning issues and the vet determined I have a congenital heart defect. The good news is, I still have a good quality of life and my activity level just needs to be monitored closely! So here I am, a short little smushy face guy, looking for my forever home, preferably a quiet and calmer home due to my condition. I would love a patient adopter that allows me time to warm up since I’m initially a little nervous, but when I warm up, man am I such a little lover! Quick movements over my head and little hands make me scared, so I prefer any children in my new home to be older. I’m also dog friendly, but again a more laid back and low-energy friend would probably be best so I don’t over exert myself! Anyway, come see me today and let me show you how much love I have to give, and all the smooches I want to share!
