Community Cat Protection Program

As part of the Animal Rescue League’s Push P.A.W.S. No-Kill Initiative adopted in early 2018, the organization will ramp up its efforts to trap-neuter-return (TNR) free-roaming cats, many who are feral cats. Working closely with three leading national animal welfare organizations, the ARL developed and implemented a new Community Cat Protection Policy to go into effect immediately that aims to humanely and significantly reduce the number of free-roaming cats through sterilization rather than euthanasia. As part of this policy, the ARL will also offer support and education to individuals and neighborhoods who may be dealing with populations of outside cats.
